"The picture's idea is an orb of thought and all these ideas traveling through, up, under, around each other. I think the point of this picture is thought." - Kate C. 4th grade
A group of creative students has painted on the wall upstairs... Luckily they had permission from Ms. Smith! The black banners have been strategically placed this week to give you a sneak peek at the progress on the new highly anticipated mural, take a look!
Hi! Me, Will Lombardi, had an amazing idea during a regular art class. We were doing a project on video art. I had an idea (not the amazing idea). I would do a floating marker. It didn't really work out, and I love animation, so I decided I would do an animation on a shark swimming up on a regular piece of paper. After almost 10 weeks of working, I finished it. I hope you enjoy it!
Yesterday, hundreds of art educators from across Maryland gathered in Silver Spring to share and learn with each other. Mrs. Zanskas proudly presented about the work that we do here at CCES! They loved your videos, sound art, costumes, sculptures, journals, paintings, collages and drawings!
The teachers at her presentation made their first sound collage as a group, their topic of choice was "Art Education Conferences." Give it a listen!
[we had lunchtime entertainment from Super Art Fight of DC, which is what inspired the silly chanting :) ]
You are listening to a sound collage created by Miss Connolly's 3rd grade class in art today! The sounds were invented by the artists as an expressive and creative response to viewing and thinking about The Green House, a photo by Sandy Skoglund.
Mrs. Zanskas teaches art at Chevy Chase Elementary School. The studio is always buzzing with students from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades creating, presenting and responding to art!
